20th Reunion:June 24th-26thAloha Classmates:
It’s hard to believe that it has been almost 20 years since we’ve
graduated from Havelock High School. To celebrate the anniversary of
our graduation, your 20th High School Reunion Committee
has put together plans for a festive "Hawaiian-Themed" weekend. To
date our plans include the following:
Friday Night
Social at the Royal Pavillion on beautiful Atlantic Beach-
Registration and sign-in will begin at 6:30 p.m. with festivities
beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Barbados Room. The Barbados room
"spills over" onto ample decking through two sliding glass doors and
leads to two lovely gazebos nearby; all that luxury is framed by
beautiful North Carolina sand dunes. Just beyond the sand dunes
Atlantic Beach is calling your name and one thing that hasn’t
changed in the last 20 years is our beautiful ocean. Dress for the
evening is casual; Bermuda shorts, Hawaiian shirts and sandals for
the guys and sundresses, sarongs, Bermuda shorts, Hawaiian shirts
and sandals for the ladies. There will be some edibles (veggie tray,
meat and cheese tray, will be served, and there will be a cash bar
to purchase your favorite beverages. Entertainment will be provided
by our own Alfie Gray from HHS’s class of 1983.
Saturday
Afternoon Family Pic-Nic at Shevan’s Park in Morehead City-We
will be meeting at Shevan’s Park in Morehead City for a fun-filled
family day. Lunch will start at noon ; it will be catered by
Smithfield’s of Havelock and will include: BBQ pork, fried chicken,
cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans hushpuppies, tea, lemonade and
banana pudding. Shevan’s Park offers a wonderful playground, on
which the children can play, with two large shelters nearby so
parents can "catch up with old friends" as well as watch their
children. There are three large shade trees so local classmates can
bring their own lawn chairs and/or blankets. McDonald’s of Havelock
has donated two coolers of orange drink for the children~~~we don’t
want them getting dehydrated!!! Again, dress is casual~~~~~~whatever
you would normally wear to a park. We have the park for the entire
day however after enjoying lunch and socializing you may want to
spend some time at the beach or show your family around some of the
local sites. Whatever you do, don’t get too tired BECAUSE. . . . .
