On July
26 and 27, 1991 the Class of 1981 came together for their
10-year reunion. It was amazing to us that it had been
10 years since we had graduated from Havelock High School.
"Boy, it's hard to believe it's been 10 years!"
was a phrase heard over and over again at the reunion.
The reunion committee chose to have a check-in and a family
pig-pickin' (Lori Rawls-McClain's dad - Mr. Harold Rawls -
cooked the pig) to be held at the VFW on Lynwayne Circle at
6:30 pm. With full tummies, everyone had a good time.
We caught up with each other, renewed old friendships, met
husbands and wives, and were introduced to children and new
babies.
On Saturday evening, the committee chose Holiday Inn in
Havelock to hold our festivities which included a dinner and
dancing. Cocktail hour, with a cash bar, was to be at
6:30 pm with semi-formal, after-five dress.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the weekend and many people wanted
to do it sooner than another
10 years. Lots thought we should do this
every five years!
